East Mayo Half Marathon 2021

You asked and we answered …… Sign up now and take part in our East Mayo’s inaugural Half Marathon on 16^th October at 10am. ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE FRIDAY AT 8PM

Lovely flat route!

There is ample parking at the CBD complex (finish line) and the race starts just 400m away at the Mace Garage/National School. Athletes will meet at the National School where there is plenty of space to line out in zones for a waved start. Zones will be predetermined based on expected finish time and this information will be emailed to participants a few days before the race. So whether you’re expecting a finish time of  1hr20 or 3hrs, you’ll be grouped with runners of the same or similar pace.

Note –The event will adhere to all Public Health Guidelines and Athletics Ireland guidelines at the time.

Size Guide:

• Number and Tshirt Pick Up will be available from 8.30 to 9.30am at the CBD Sports Complex, beside Charlestown Gaa pitch F12 R832

Arrival: 

• Sufficient carparking is available at the CBD complex, approx 400m from the Assembly/Start Line.
• Toilets will be available at the CBD complex and at the Pastoral Centre (beside the school/start line).
• Please arrive allowing plenty of time to make your way to the assembly at St Attractas National School carpark.  Hand Sanitizer will be available for use at all entrances.
• Assembly will be divided into 2 zones, with sub 1hr 50mins in ZONE 1
• Please adhere to social distancing before and after the race.
• The start line is just outside the main gate of the school, please make sure you run across the mat so that your Chip is activated.  The race is chipped and results will be available online after the race on the Pop Up Races site.

During the Race:

• Please be aware that there is football match taking place at Curry GAA at 12pm so we can expect increased traffic in that area. Both clubs  involved have been informed of the race and for your safety, have asked their teams and supporters to be aware of runners on their  approach to the pitch.
• Mini bottled water will be available at water stations situated at approximately 4km, 9km and 14km marks. Please KEEP RIGHT. Our marshalls will ask you to cross to the left at the Church as you make your way to the finish line. Please note all  roads are open and while marshals will do their utmost to manage traffic please take care of your own road safety. Large bins will be provided further down from the stations.
• Beaumont Ambulance will be on the route. If you require any assistance, please inform one of our marshalls.

Finish Line:

• Bottled water and fruit will be available at the finish line.
• Please join us in the complex for some light refreshments after the race.
• We encourage social distancing at all times.
• Results and photographs will be shared as quickly as possible online.

€100 Prize Cheques will be posted to 1st Male and 1st Female, based on chip times.

• Your participation on the day confirms that you have managed your own risk and are happy to attend and take part. Please respect our marshalls and Covid Officers at all times
