Round 7 of the 2024 Peugeot Race Series brought runners to the midlands, where Edenderry AC in Co Offaly welcomed runners for the annual Edenderry 10 Mile Road race.

As with all road races promoted by Offaly Athletics clubs, this race was organised with military precision, with no stone left unturned ensuring participants’ had a memorable, enjoyable day.

The race started at 9:30am on the button, and within afew hundred metres, it became a 2 hours race as Conor Duffy (Glaslough Harriers) and DSD’s Eanna O Bradaigh broke clear of the pack, Indeed around the 2 mile mark, it was Duffy that made the decisive move, and in the end had a relatively comfortable victory, solo running to a winning time of 50:28. O Bradaigh followed (52:37) with team mate Killian Mooney in 3rd.

Portarlington woman Heather Murphy from the St Michaels Athletics club was the winner of the womens race, breaking the hour mark in a time of 59:35. She was a minute clear of Dublin City Harriers runner Sorcha McAllister, with Sarah Mulligan from DSD completing the podium.

Dundrum South Dublin made it the perfect 7 from 7 in the team prize, and with that wrapped up the €10,000 frist prize with 2 races to spare!

Rounds 8 & 9 of the series take place in Cork at the Cork City 10k (August) and the Charleville Half Marathon (September).
