The 2025 Peugeot Race Series kicked off in style at its traditional St Patricks Day venue of Portlaoise, and with a record entry of almost 1,300 participants, it was the biggest running of the event in it’s history.

Crowds flocked from all over the country to enjoy the unique atmosphere that this race provides, as it passes twice down the narrow, spectator filled main street of Portlaoise. The race is followed directly by the St Patricks Day parade, and as a result, large crowds come out to support the runners from early morning. Add in the kids races before the main event, and it truly is a wonderful day out for the family.

The race itself attracted another fast field, and in the end, it was Dundrum South Dublin AC’s Killian Mooney, and Leevale AC’s Hannah Steeds, that took away the winning prizes of €700 each (€200 & €500 win bonus from Peugeot Ireland(. Both athletes have been huge supporters of the series down the years, and were deserving race winners.

Dundrum South Dublin also won the mixed team prize of €1,000 courtesy of Peugeot Ireland.
