The Fighting Cocks GFC invite you to their annual 5k / 10k fun run to raise funds for the club. This event will adhere to any Government Guidelines applicable at the date of the event.

• QUIET COUNTRY RD,FAST ROUTE FOR PB.
• 5K STARTS @10.30AM.(SHARP)
• 10K STARTS @ 11.00AM.(SHARP)
• CAR PARK AT FINISH LINE IN VILLAGE.EIRCODE R93K5C6
• NO ENTRIES AFTER 8PM ON SUNDAY 19^TH
• RACE NUMBER IN CARLOW & RATHOE ON FRIDAY 24^TH.
• VIRTUAL OPTION AVAILABLE ON LINE.

Unfortunately this year we will be unable to provide food in the hall.

5 K RUNNERS Fighting Cocks GFC 25/7/20

Firstly thank you very much for entering our run to help generate much needed funds for our club.

First and foremost our runner’s safety is our number 1 concern always but especially this year in these uncertain times. This been said we have ample stewards on board to help out .We want to email you to point out a few things so if you wish you can print off to have for the day .

5k run starts at 10.30 sharp. 10km at 11am

Blocks of 40 and done by speed category

Parking is at the finish line . Postcode is R93DW90 or enter Rathoe Community Childcare .This is the exact parking location .

For Wexford runners we NEED them to travel straight thru Ballon village and don’t use sat nav but go 7k and turn right at the Fighting Cocks pub and then go 5 k to the village .we will have some signage outside Ballon for this .

Do not use just Rathoe in Sat Nav as it will take you to the wrong location 12 miles away .

Start line is 1.4 k from car park, we have a free shuttle bus to take you up 1k .

Please allow ample time to get up to the start line. We suggest to leave the village at 9.45 and either run it to warm up or get the bus. ( 15 ppl at a time on the bus ).

We have a warm up area/road to safety do this .More details from the stewards at these points .We ask that you follow their instructions to help the event go smoothly .

5 ladies toilets at the parking/finish line and 3 gents .

2 male and 2 female toilets up at the start point.

2 water stations along the route along with at the start and finish line .

8 stewards will be on motorbikes to assist on the day .

We ask that people keep to the left of the road as best they can to allow runners and vehicles pass you out should they need to.

Paramedic on the course also, should you or anyone need him just inform a steward and they will phone him .He will be driven around in a small van on the day .

Sorry we can’t do food this year .

Chipped timed run and winners will be notified by post should they be lucky enough to win .
