5k & 10 Mile road races taking place on the new Macroom Bypass

PLEASE NOTE BOTH RACES ARE COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. THERE IS NO SIGN UP ON THE DAY

Hosted by West Muskerry AC in association with Macroom senior citizens and Macroom fairy garden

12 Noon start for the 5k, with the 10 Mile race commencing at 1:30pm with registration and number pick up from 11am (Western end on new bypass (beside temporary roundabout)

Pricing: 5k €10 (+ booking fee), 10 Mile €25 (+booking fee)

Safety Briefing

Service dogs only on the course.

Keep in the left lane for the entire race.

Don’t step off the blacktop.

Don’t cross the centre median, or any barriers or fencing.

Children must be under the supervision of parent or guardian.

Inform a steward/volunteer if medical attention is needed.

Please take care walking back to the parking area as cars may be entering and leaving.

All traffic is one-way, enter at Millstreet Road and exit at Carrigaphooca.

Number Collection

Race numbers can be collected from the Café at the Castle Hotel Macroom, 7-9pm on Saturday 26-Nov, or from the start area on the day of the race (Sunday 27-Nov)

Parking

Single row of parking on the new bypass to the west of the registration area at the top of the Gurteenroe Slip. On the Westbound carriageway only (South side). Will be 8m wide.

Priority Parking area for approx. 50 cars closest to registration area.

Set Down Area available off to the side at the top of the Gurteenroe Slip, not to block traffic.

All traffic is one-way, enter at Millstreet Road and exit at Carrigaphooca.

DUE TO THE PARKING BEING IN A SINGLE ROW, THERE COULD BE A LONG WALK BETWEEN PARKING SPACE AND RACE START.

Catering

Water at 6M mark of 10M race.

Water and Bananas at finish line.

Toilets

4 x portaloos at start area on Westbound carriageway.
