Our 5k race is dedicated to two great clubs members, both of whom were with the club since it’s beginnings. Bob Heffernan helped build and grow the club through his many years volunteering and coaching. Mary Hanley started as a juvenile athlete and helped promote the club through her exploits as an athlete. She was also a great mentor to many of the athletes both young & old!
It’s the 3rd race of the 2023 Peugeot Race Series.
The course is very fast and flat starting roughly a mile out of Johnstownbridge on the Enfield-Edenderry road. It is a one loop course with two left-hand turns, the first shortly after 1k and the second just before the 4k mark. The race finishes at the Hamlet Court Hotel where there will be light refreshments. Prize giving for the first 4 women and men across the line along with teams prizes immediately after the race. Category prizes will be posted out.

Price: €15 for adults & €12 for juniors (Participants must be 16 years and older to compete)
Free t-shirt for the first 300 online entries.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Johnstownbridge this Tuesday for our annual 5km Road Race. Please read the following information carefully to ensure a safe and smooth running of the race.
Please read the following information carefully ahead of Tuesdays event.
- The race starts at 8pm sharp. Note that the start is approximately 1 mile from the race HQ at the Hamlet Court Hotel, so please give yourself enough time to get to the start line.
- Number & Tee pick up is available at the Hamlet Court Hotel from 6pm - 7:30pm
- If you selected to have your number posted, it should have arrived with you by raceday. IF IT HAS NOT, we will have a spare number for you at the registration desk
- There is ample parking, please adhere to the advice of the marshals on arrival, they will direct you where to park
- The course is all left hand turns and finishes just outside the Hamlet Court Hotel. It starts approximately 1 mile from the Hotel on the R402 (on the Edenderry side of Johnstownbridge)
- Prizegiving for all prizewinners, categories and teams will commence at 8:50pm from outside the hotel. If you are not around to collect, your prize will be posted out in due course.
- There will be water and fruit available at the finish line.
