The 2024 event will also incorporate the National Half Marthon championships.

Info re transfers/Numbers/Startlists from Pop Up Races:

  • Transfers via eventmaster are now closed, but you can still transfer your number up to 8pm on Friday evening. To do this, email office@popupraces.ie with the following information: Name, DOB, Email, Club & Mobile of the person taking your entry.
  • Race Number Postage: All packs / And numbers for those that paid for postage have now been sent with An Post. Typically, a small number of these will be delivered late or go missing in the post. There is no need to email ourselves or the organisers if your pack has not arrived as there is nothing we can do about it. Go to the Race HQ on the morning where a replacement number will be available for you.
  • Start List: Current startlist is available here (participants tab - best viewed on landscape mode): https://www.popupraces.ie/race/charleville-international-half-marathon-2024/. It will update every 48 hours with changes. Please check your entry to ensure age category and club is ok. If your club us not listed, you will not be eligible for the National Championships. Any updates, please email OFFICE@POPUPRACES.IE before 8pm Friday

  • Car parking has been made available at the Dunnes shopping centre from 7:45am, (Map below). In addition, there are a limited number of spaces on the grounds of the race HQ (GAA hall on Bakers Road). For wheelchair users, there are dedicated spaces available directly outside the race HQ/check-in area. There is also parking on Main Street where available. We would ask that you take direction from any traffic stewards on arrival. Please note that there is NO PARKING on the ground of St. Josephs Foundation. Any cars parking here will be unable to exit until the completion of the race after 1pm.
  • Toilets are available outside race HQ/check-in area, and at the entrance to St. Josephs foundation. On the course there will be a toilet in Kilmallock opposite the 6.5 mile water station.
  • The Race HQ number collection/check-in area will be open from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday evening and then from 7:30am on race day, for number collection. All athletes must have been processed through here by 9:30am at the latest. You only need your name, (plus club and age category if required). You will be assigned a race number once you check-in with your details. You can line up at ANY desk to get your race number
  • There is a bag drop off area available inside race HQ hall.
  • There will be limited t-shirts and quarter zips to purchase on the day at registration.
  • Pacers will be available at 5 minute intervals from 85 minutes up to 140 minutes. In most cases they will be wearing distinctive yellow pacer singlets and balloons. There will be signage along the road at the start line to give you an approximate area to stand for the start, depending on your expected race time.
  • Be aware that the roads throughout the course are closed, but there is always a possibility that a vehicle can find its way onto the road.
  • A water station will be positioned at approximately 3 miles, 6.5 miles, 10 miles and at the finish line. Please DO NOT crush the water bottle when finished as charities will be collecting these to redeem the recycling fee. There are bins around water station but if not visible, please drop at side of road and not into hedges.
  • On the approach to the finish line as you enter St. Joseph’s centre, there are humps on the road. Please take care.
  • You are being photographed throughout the course and filmed crossing the line, so don’t forget to smile! Communication will be provided if you wish to purchase any of your official Half Marathon photos after the event.
  • Water and fruit (bananas & oranges) are provided at the finish line. There are separate recycling bins and waste bins at the finish line. Please help us by keeping separate. Then head to medal collection area and then on to refreshments in the hall.
  • There are refreshments and food being served in the hall at the finish line.
  • Athletics Ireland official will be positioned at the start & finish line and in positions around the course. There will be an anti-doping room at the finish line should Athletics Ireland request any athlete to complete a test.
  • Prizegiving for the top 3 finishers and age categories, will take place in the hall, at the finish line. All other prizes will be posted the following week. Please note that as this is the National Half Marathon event, Athletics Ireland will be also awarding medals on the day.
  • There are NO pacing bikes allowed on the course alongside runners.
  • Most important of all......the race starts at 10am outside the NCT centre at the top of Bakers Road.
