Thank you for choosing to support what I believe to be a great cause particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be running a solo 65km distance adhering to social distancing to raise much needed funds for the ALONE charity who support older people to age at home. Running such a distance will be difficult, doing it alone will pose further potential problems and I do not take it on lightly. But it is not as difficult as what many of our older community are facing in isolation at present.
ALONE provides many services for people over 60 who:
Need information on rights and entitlements
Cannot access vital services
Have physical or mental health difficulties
Have financial difficulties
Are experiencing elder abuse
Are experiencing isolation and loneliness
Live in substandard or unsuitable housing
Are homeless or at risk of homelessness
Require additional support to remain living in the community
The service is confidential, non-judgmental and non-denominational.
Your contribution, big or small, will go towards facilitating these services.
