Athgarvan GAA & LGFA Fun Run 2022

We are delighted to once again host the Athgarvan GAA & LGFA Fun Run for 2022.

Set on the picturesque rolling plains of the Curragh near to the Royal Curragh Golf Club our event promises to be a fun, enjoyable run that everyone can take part in whether you run jog or walk All are welcome

This year we are delighted to present the ‘Edel Delaney Memorial Cup’ to the first lady winner of thex5km race. This is in memory of Edel who was a special member of the club and whose family continues to be involved.

There will also be prizes for the first Male and female winners of the 5km and 10km races and for the first male and female under 18 in the 5km

There will be medals for all finishers and lots of refreshments in the hall after the run. We look forward to seeing you all again in October

They are offering FREE entry to the races o the 23rd, all you have to do is bring your race number and dhow it at the entrance strike. U18’s are free.

Also, we are encouraging children (and adults) who are taking part in the 2.5k ramble to dress up**

Dear participant,

Thank you for entering our Athgarvan Fun Run.

It is this Sunday 23rd October starting at 10.00am for the 10km and following o with the 5km snd finally the 2.5km ramble.

There are prizes in the following categories:

5k First Male and Female
5k First U18 Male and Female
10k First Male and Female

In case there is any confusion there is no prize for U18's in the 10k.

There will be a finishers medal for all and plenty of refreshments afterwards in the school GP room.

There will be one water stop at the half way point of the 10k, with more water available at the end of the race.

T-shirts are available to buy as an optional extra online, however there will be some available to buy on Saturday evening if any remain.

Your Race Number and T-shirt (if ordered) can be collected at Scoil Bhride in the GP room on Saturday from 4.30pm to 7.00pm or Sunday morning 8.30am to 9.30am sharp. We recommend collecting Saturday if possible. Scoil Bhride is directly beside Athgarvan GAA club. The eircode is R56 P578.

Please note there is limited parking available at the club. We encourage people to car pool where possible.

This year we are presenting the first lady home in the 5k race with the 'Edel Delaney Memorial Cup'. Edel was a very popular member of Athgarvan GAA and her family continue to be very involved with the club. We are delighted yo remember her in this special way on the day.

As it is so close to Halloween we are encouraging children to dress up and there will be a couple of prizes to be won. Best of luck!

The Curragh Racecourse have racing on the same day as our Fun Run. As part of their generous sponsorship they are giving FREE ENTRY to anyone that arrives with their RACE NUMBER. Just present it at the entrance building. U18's are free as usual. What better way to relax snd have fun after the run!

Finally, numbers allowing we will accept entries on Saturday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm in the GP room.
