The 2023 Castleknock 5km will take place on Sunday the 18th of June at 11am.
This is the 9th year of the Castleknock 5km.. This event brings the community together.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants who helped us raise much needed funds for our selected charities.
To date we have raised €160,000 for our chosen charities. This year our chosen charity is St. Francis Hospice.
This is a Family Fun Day and runners/walkers of all abilities are very welcome. It also takes place on Father’s Day.
Refreshments will be provided after the race.
Join us and make this a fun day out for all the family to remember.
Online registration closes at 5pm on Friday 16/06. You can register in person on Saturday the 17/06 from 1pm-5pm. This year you will NOT be able to register on the morning of the race . Registration prices are as follows:
Adult Entry €20* online
Juvenile Entry (U16) €10*
*plus booking fee & postage of t-shirt & number
The first 800 entries will receive T-Shirt. Your number/chip and T-Shirt will be posted out to you.

Parking- Please leave the car at home if you live locally. Those coming from further a field can park in Castleknock College. Give yourself plenty of time to get there.
There is no Registration on the morning of the run but you can pick up your race number if you did not have it posted out or if you did not pick it up on the Saturday before the run in Flynn Estate Agents (Saturday between 1pm & 5pm)
If your race pack did not arrive in the post, you can pick a replacement number up on Saturday at Flynn Estate Agents or on Sunday from 9:30am at the start area in Castleknock College
Warm up - will be provided by Anatomic Fitness at 10.30 sharp.
Race starts - 11am SHARP
Due to the record number of participants this year, in the interest of safety there will be a staggered start this year. Runners with a 5km time of 25 mins and under will go off first and everyone else 2 minutes later. Everyone will have a Chip time regardless of when they cross the starting mat. Safety for all is paramount so we ask that you respect this request and convey this to all family members especially the younger enthusiastic athletes in your families.
Our Route
- Exits the College grounds.
- Down the tower road
- Enters the Phoenix park at the gates beside Mount Sackville and Knockmaroon.
- Up to cross roads and take a left onto the ordnance road.
- Left on to whites road and up to whites gate, beside farmleigh.
- Through whites gate and up the hill of whites Road.
- Take a right at the lights.
- Down the College Road to the lights at Myos and take a right.
- Finish line - outside Myos pub.
If you can, please have some warm clothes handy, to stay warm after the 5km.
