Grocers Fun Run CORK 2024

The Grocers Fun Run 5k & 10k is coming to CORK on Saturday 20th April 2024  at 11:00am

NOTE: This route is NOT suitable for wheelchair athletes.

We have a fun filled morning planned in our venue, Mallow Racecourse:

• Medals for all finishers.
• The worlds best goodie bag!
• Family fun with lots of kids entertainment on offer.
• Limited spaces so register early.

Venue: Mallow Race Course. Killarney Road, Mallow, Co Cork

RACE NUMBERS: These can be picked up on the morning from 9:30am in the racecourse

Registration & Number Pick Up: Main Stand at the racecourse from 9:30am

Parking: There are  carparks on site, please adhere to the instructions of the marshals on arrival who will direct you where to park

Bag Drop: There is no bag drop this year.

Start Times: 

• 5km & 10km - 11am (note that the start is approximately 0.5km from the grandstand)

The Route: All races take place on the ambulance track around the racecourse. The loop is approximately 2km in length. Images of the loop can be seen in the race description here: https://www.popupraces.ie/race/grocers-fun-run-cork-2024/

**Please note the 500m down from registration to the start area is on very soft bark chippings. We want to make you aware of this if you have kids on scooters or buggies for example, pushing or wheeling anything on wheels will be a challenge so you may need to allow extra time to make your way to the start in this instance. The 2km loop itself is also a little bumpy in parts. We ask that you run on the left of the loop at all times so that if you are being lapped by fatser participants, they can pass on the right hand side.

*PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST STAY OFF THE RACECOURSE ITSELF AT ALL TIMES*

Water Station: There is one water station on the loop. Water will be served in disposable cups

Post Race: Each finisher will receive 1 goodie bag and 1 finisher medal. There will be bins situated all around the tented area and finish line, please use these as we are operating a "Leave no trace" policy at the event. There will be a number of vendors from the grocery industry sampling products after the race, so please do stay around and enjoy the hospitality after you finish.

Raffle: There will be a raffle taking place on the day with lots of fabulous prizes! All proceeds will go to the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund
