You’ve done the training, you’re ready to tackle the Dublin Marathon for 2024.
We would like you to join us in Dondea Forest on October 13th for your Last Long Run.
This is not a race, but instead an opportunity for you to run with others, practice your fuelling and your pacing, and get that last long run done before the big day.
The route is the 5km loop used in the National 50km championships, it is a hard gravel path with a couple of hills to keep you honest!
We will have pacers running for 2 hours, on a 5km loop within the forest. You can do as any laps as you wish, all we ask is that you start at 9:30am.
Paces:
- 6:50min per mile / 4:15min per km (3 hour marathon pace)
- 8 min per mile / 5min per km (3:30 marathon pace)
- 9:10 min per mile / 5:40 per km (4hr marathon pace)
- 10:20 per mile / 6:25 per km (4:30hr marathon pace)
- 11:25 per mile / 7:05 per km (5 hour marathon pace)
We will have water stations every 5km to practice your hydration, and a premium long sleeved tshirt for participants.

Thank you for registering for this weekends "Last Long Run" - we hope the training has gone well and we look forward to welcoming you to Donadea this Sunday. Just afew points to note below ahead of the event:
- The event takes place in Donadea Forest Park, starting at 9:30am sharp.
- You do not need to pay to enter the park, the barrier will be up from 8:15am - 9:00am. Outside of these times, you will need to pay €5 to get in.
- You can pick up your race number at the front of the castle (near the car park) from 8:45am at our tent.
- The event is not a race, but we will provide 5km lap times to all participants who want them. If you dont want these, there is no need for you to pick up a race number.
- We will provide water on each lap in 250ml bottles. We will have a designated "water zone" of about 300m, we ask that you do not bring water bottles beyond this zone as we want to operate a LEAVE NO TRACE policy on the route.
- The loop itself is a 5km loop, and our pacers are going to run for 2 hours. We will leave the timing mats down for 3 hours, so those wishing to continue running can do so. Pacers will be running at 3hr, 3:30, 4hr, 4:30 and 5hr marathon pace
- There are toilets available by the car park, and we will also have portaloos on the course.
- After your run, we will have a bottle of water and a piece of fruit for you.. There is also an on site cafe by the finish line if you want something more substantial
- The route is all on gravel paths within the forest (its the loop used for the Donadea 50km)...there are nice rolling hills and it will be a good workout for those preparing for the Dublin Marathon. See HERE
- It will start on front of the castle, you will turn right at the lake, run up to the 9/11 monument, turn left, left again shortly after and then continue straight until you see the water station, where you will turn left.
- We will have a limited supply of tshirts for sale Sunday morning, €20 cash only.
